Coffee Chats · September 1st

September 2, 2017

I am tired, but I am motivated.

In 18 hours I will be ending my last shift of a seventeen consecutive day work schedule. The money is fantastic, and it hasn't taken much of a toll on my mental health. My manager asked me the other day if I would consider a career at the bookstore. I told him no because my heart is with writing. If I could spend days writing and drinking pumpkin spice lattes in a cabin listening to the Where the Wild Things Are soundtrack, I would do it. I've had this dream of picking up and moving to California, but I don't see anything for me there. I think either Tennessee, Portland, or NYC will be more my speed. Here's to being in a new state sometime next year. A state with more forests, mountains, and inspiration.

I have been working on a poetry book, and I have been working on crafts. Almost every night I wind down by crocheting and watching Game of Thrones. I'm late to the game, but I am just about halfway through season four. I am at any given moment swooning over Iwan Rheon, and if I don't date an Irishman once in my life then I cannot die happily.

I haven't had much time to go out and take photos just for the hell of taking photos. Summer doesn't entice me as much as Fall does. But, with a nice schedule these next two weeks, I will hopefully get to spend more time outdoors. I am happiest surrounded by trees, and they push creativity through my body. I think that is how I will spend some of my time. After these next two weeks, I start a full time position as Kids Lead at my book store. It's my first promotion-ever. I am nervous, but I am excited. I think Sarah and I can accomplish a lot of good things together, as well as make work significantly more tolerable and enjoyable.

Back to my poetry book, the anticipated release date is November 8th, but I really need to get it together if it's going to be ready by then. I think it can be. I cannot wait to put it all together and see the finished product in my hands.

Life is treating me well lately. I am happy.
